[Engadget HD] More HD channels, more HD VOD, etc. They include support for the switched digital systems used by Comcast and Time Warner, which Motorola expects to see a lot of progress in rolling out in late 2007 once two way CableCards have become available.

Netgear Introduces Digital Media Adapter with Support for Intel Viiv

Motorola acquires HDTV software supplier
[HDTV Reviews & Information @ HDTV Lounge.Net] While no terms were disclosed, one IPTV developer familiar with the deal characterized it as “unlikely to be more than ten million dollars, likely a few million.” The Vertasent team will continue to operate out of Colmar, as part of Motorola’s Connected Home Solutions business unit.

NEWS FLASH: Microsoft launches major push into IPTV
[Windowsfordevices.com] Microsoft TV's new IPTV STB solution can be expected to target high-end STBs with processing performance of at least 100MHz along with 16-32MB (or more) of memory, and will includes a full software stack including the embedded operating system (CE .NET or XP Embedded), a TV graphical user interface (GUI) layer, and other specialized middleware for delivering content and services to an interactive set-top box TV environment.
