Assess the Quad-Play Strategy of Softbank Japan

[IPTV News, Events, Jobs, Providers - TVover.net] Infrastructure is one of the ”˜triple number one’ elements that Chairman Masayoshi Son has identified as the Group’s strategic focus, and now Softbank has interests in all access technologies. Coupled with its portal and content capabilities, Son believes that Softbank now has a reach that no other service provider can match.

[Lost in Colonisation] Plenty have already been written about the Apple TV, on how its features are limited and will be a massive flop to how it will revolutionise TV viewing. I think I agree to both point of views, because how you feel about Apple TV depend heavily on what TV is meant to you and how it fits into your life.

AT&T’s U-verse IPTV Service Available on PCs

[Digital Media Bulletin] AT&T announced that its IPTV service called U-verse will be available on PCs and cell phones. Only certain channels, like A&E Broadband, Fox News, The Weather Channel, and Bloomberg TV will be available.

[A Consuming Experience] sociability (TV watching is often a social or family activity: talking about how hot that actor/,actress is, how cool that goal/jacket).The BBC needs to ensure that iPlayer will be as home hub friendly as possibly, though I appreciate they're not in the business of producing suitable hardware themselves. If the BBC want to extend audience reach, it's important that they make iPlayer as compatible as possible with home hubs and non-"all in one" or multifunction products which may be less sophisticated, variously known as digital media receivers or digital multimedia receivers, digital media adapters (DMA), digital media centers, multimedia players, digital entertainers, wireless media players or wireless multimedia players, wireless multimedia links etc - not to mention the much heralded Slingcatcher, Apple iTV and so on.

Greek IPTV market takes off, VIVODI launches service

[Broadband TV News] At present, Vivodi Telecom’s service offers 10 international thematic TV channels including Euronews, Discovery (Science, Civilization, Travel and Living), France24 and Blue Hustler, as well as hundreds of recent or classic movies in collaboration with Warner Bros. International Television on its VOD service.

Il progetto è nato da un’iniziativa di Roberta Enni che ringrazio per la piacevole collaborazione, e alla quale faccio un sincero in bocca al lupo per quest’iniziativa che accende la nostra speranza.

[ m-trends.org] At the end of last week there was a lot of talk in the blogosphere about the YouTube Mobile site going live and I was looking forward to putting it through it’s paces. I tried it in Firefox (without UA spoofing) and got a blocked message and so I tried it on my N70 and got the same message.
