Microsoft IPTV Sucks sooooo much!

Sony's Glasgow speaks out about Blu-ray, IPTV

[HDTV Magazine - Internet HDTV News] Last week, Sony CEO Howard Stringer announced that the new blockbuster movie "Hancock" would be streamed in HD to owners of Sony Bravia HDTVs, through the "Bravia Internet Video Link", days before it hits DVD and Blu-ray. IPTV middleware "spending spree" predicted

[IPTV News] The combined IPTV and switched digital video equipment market was found to have grown 12% in the first quarter of this month relative to the previous three months to reach US$1.3bn. Worldwide IP set-top box revenue grew 10% by the same comparison, with Motorola continuing to lead the worldwide market in the first quarter of this year, although its closest competitors made "major inroads". ADB was found to be current leader of the worldwide hybrid IP/over-the-air set-top box market.

Telekom Slovenije holds 60.3% of Slovenian IPTV market, says APEK

[IPTV News] Alternative telco T2 followed in second place with a gain of just under 1% to reach a 36.3% share of Slovenia's IPTV market, with Amis and Tus Telekom accounting for the remainder. Telekom Slovenije was also the leading provider of broadband services in the period, though its market share fell slightly to 49.2%, and fibre operator T2 again followed in second place with a 16.8% slice of the market, followed by Amis with 8.8%, UPC Telemach with 8.3% and Tus Telekom with 3.2%.

UTStarcom bags second Aksh Optifibre contract

[IPTV News] July 14, 2008 - US firm UTStarcom has signed a new contract with Indian IPTV operator and optical fibre cable manufacturer Aksh Optifibre that expands the operator's deployment of UTStarcom's RollingStream IPTV platform to increase its reach and deliver services to subscribers of telco partner Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) in Mumbai.

IPTV consolidation: Espial to acquire Kasenna

[fierceiptv] According to Espial, the combined company will have more than 100 service provider customers supporting about 2.4 million IPTV customers. Kasenna customers include Cavalier Telephone, CenturyTel, FastWeb, Kentucky Telephone, SaskTel, Tennessee Telephone, Time Warner Cable, Charter Communications and Knology.

[Gizmodo Comments] for U-verse and FiOS does there have to be a box hooked up to every tv? i understand that there would have to be a box hooked up for IPTV to work, but if i wanted to watch normal "cable" on a tv not hooked up to box could i still do .
