[Join Freesat] Freesat Hits 1 Million Sales | Join Freesat: Currys and Comet simply pass customer details on to Sky rather than sell the products, but unfortunately there are huge incentives from Sky in the form of commissions for gaining customers so sadly this is always going to take priority over Freesat, where the retailer simply makes a small mark-up on the product like other items in the store. This mark-up is MUCH SMALLER than the commission from Sky.

[BBC Internet Blog] BBC - BBC Internet Blog: BBC iPlayer Content Protection Enhancements: As I said, the BBC is not stopping you from using Adobe Flash, just because you have an irrational fear of such software that is your problem, non one else's. The BBC is not failing in their duty, if you are correct then I will expect them to restart broadcasting on the old VHF 405 line TV system (for which a TVL would be required, unlike the iPlayer...), scrap the DSO program (or at least preserve the analogue service plus return the national radio stations that left the AM band so that all the old AM/LW only car radios (mostly found in classic cars these days) can function - doing all that will probably mean that the BBC would have to save money by scrapping the iPlayer though!...
[TechCrunch] 45% of Europeans watch TV online: True, in that it was a survey so it’s respondents, but I think its important to look outside of mainstream streaming services and consider your Bittorrents and similar as well as I noted in the post, even Usenet has surged as a destination for downloading recorded TV content after nearly fading away several years ago. Consider that a 30 minute program is only a 200mb download that with a decent broadband connection could be downloaded in under 1 hour (or quicker again) then your potential market is a lot bigger than most would expect.
[BBC Internet Blog] BBC - BBC Internet Blog: Update: BBC iPlayer on Freesat: But seriously (and perhaps I'm being, OK I'll admit it, a little thick or overly cynical here), why the need for accessing the IP part of the TV via "by some code in the broadcast satellite stream", you would never suggest that one needs to "Press Red" to access a PVR device, no it would just be another button or set of buttons (as I understand is the case with Sky+) on the remote. Care to explain just why the iPlayer needs to access the receivers DVB "iServices" function considering that content delivery is via an IP stream - meaning surely that all it needs to do is access a given external (or internal, firmware set) URL?

[India Broadband Forum Feed] Experience with SUN Direct HD: Since both coming from the same source we need to keep on changing the TV settings for Wide Zoom/ Full when you switch over between HD to SD. So practically my usage of Sun Direct HD is limited to HD channels only, and switch over to Tata Sky+ for SD channels , switching over and controlling the corresponding devices is very easy task (with single click) thanks to Logitech Harmony 900 remote.
[BBC Internet Blog] BBC - BBC Internet Blog: Round up: iPlayer on Freesat: You mean, like all those who do not yet have Freesat and do not truly understand the technicalities? After all many people still think that 'SKY' own the satellite, on the face of this blog (and, it would appear, on some of the cited websites) many could be mislead into thinking that the iPalyer will be available via 'Freesat', just as some still talk about watching the BBC via 'SKY'...
